Children having children - State of the World's Mothers 2004

In occasione della Festa della Mamma, Save the Children pubblica la sua quinta edizione
rapporto annuale sullo stato delle madri del mondo. Concentrandosi sulle decine di milioni di ragazze che diventano madri quando sono ancora bambine, il report  focalizza l'attenzione
 sulle enormi sfide, spesso di vita o di morte, affrontate dalle giovani madri e i loro figli. Suggerisce le azioni necessarie per supportare le ragazze a rischio di maternità precoce e raccomanda inoltre soluzioni programmatiche e politiche che si sono dimostrate utili sia nell'aiutare le ragazze a posticipare il matrimonio e il parto, sia nel fornire servizi sanitari ed educativi per le madri bambine e i loro bambini.

In commemoration of Mother’s Day, Save the Children is publishing its fifth annual State of the World’s Mothers report. By focusing on the tens of millions of girls who become mothers while still children, this report bring attention to the enormous, often life-and-death challenges faced by young mothers and their children. It suggests actions required to help girls who are at risk of early motherhood. It also recommends programmatic and policy solutions that have proven useful both in helping girls to postpone marriage and childbirth and in providing health and education services for child mothers and their children.
