Programmi di educazione in contesti di emergenza. L'esperienza di Save the Children. Approcci, metodologie, standard di intervento

Il rapporto  sottolinea l'importanza dell'educazione anche in contesti di crisi ed emergenza. Save the Children ritiene che l’educazione, che di per sé costituisce un diritto per tutti i bambini, debba essere considerata prioritaria in qualsiasi intervento umanitario in contesti di crisi, poiché assicura una garanzia di protezione ai bambini e un supporto alle comunità colpite. Conflitti e catastrofi naturali negano ad intere generazioni di minori la cultura, le conoscenza e le infinite opportunità che l’educazione può offrire. In realtà essa, quando integrata alle azioni di assistenza umanitaria più immediate (sanità, cibo ed acqua, etc.), rivitalizza e rafforza il morale e le capacità di risposta di tutti quei bambini che loro malgrado si trovano d’improvviso a fronteggiare una situazione di emergenza.

The report highlights the importance of education even in contexts of crisis and emergency. Save the Children believes that education, which in itself is a right for all children, should be prioritised in any humanitarian intervention in crisis contexts, as it ensures a guarantee of protection for children and support for affected communities. Conflicts and natural disasters deny entire generations of children the culture, knowledge and infinite opportunities that education can offer. In reality, when integrated with the most immediate humanitarian assistance actions (health, food and water, etc.), it revitalizes and strengthens the morale and response capacities of all those children who suddenly find themselves facing an emergency situation.
