Le condizioni di povertà tra le madri in Italia

In Italia, nel 2008, si stimavano 2,737 milioni di famiglie in condizione di povertà relativa, pari all’11,3% dei nuclei familiari residenti. Come più volte rilevato da Save the Children, esiste una stretta correlazione tra il benessere della madre e quello del bambino, dal momento che la qualità della vita di un bambino dipende dal benessere, economico e sociale (in termini di salute, livello di istruzione) della madre. Il rapporto analizza il panorama della povertà in Italia, concentrandosi su quella materna, per comprendere quante sono le madri povere in Italia e quali le loro caratteristiche socio-demografiche.

In Italy, in 2008, it was estimated that there were 2.737 million families living in relative poverty, equal to 11.3% of resident households. As repeatedly pointed out by Save the Children, there is a close correlation between the well-being of the mother and that of the child, since the quality of life of a child depends on the economic and social well-being (in terms of health, level of education) of the mother. The report analyses the landscape of poverty in Italy, focusing on maternal poverty, to understand how many mothers are poor in Italy and what are their socio-demographic characteristics.
